Executive Assistant

Position Purpose:

Provides administrative support to the Executive Director, including meeting scheduling, travel arrangements, and internal and external communication. Provides primary administrative support for major donor relations and capital campaigns. Coordinates activities related to church presentations and other training/speaking engagements. Serves as secondary liaison to the board of directors; prepares for Board and Advisory Council meetings; maintains board policy manual; and implements document retention policy.

  • Evidence of spiritual maturity, including integrity, humility, self-control, an active prayer life and dependence on the Lord.

  • Involvement in a local church

  • Bachelor’s degree with a high GPA.

  • 5 years of administrative support at the executive level.

  • Experience in nonprofit organizations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment of changing priorities, multi-tasking, competing deadlines.

  • Interest in the mission of the organization.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Keen attention to detail and instructions.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • High degree of proficiency with the full MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and the Internet.

  • Ability and interest in learning new skills and new information.

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to make decisions appropriately and independently on moderately difficult issues that may call for deviating from established procedures.

  • Dependable and able to meet urgent deadlines, recurring due dates, and long term goals.

  • Able to handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Kind, tactful, goal focused, and persuasive; an active listener, especially in the face of criticism or complaints; able to communicate well with people at all levels of responsibility.
